Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. Check out her blog here! Basically, it’s a time where I get to show off all the books I got in the past week (purchased, netgalley, borrowed, etc). I’m going to keep my time period from Sunday through Saturday, posting my weekly updates on Sunday morning.
Today’s time period is from 9/15/13 through 9/21/13.
Bought:
- Descension by B. C. Burgess
- Branded by Keary Taylor
- Sunset Rising by S. M. McEachern
All of these were free on Kindle, so no money spent this week! The ban was a success!
From NetGalley:
- Picture Me by Lori Weber
- Waterfell by Amalie Howard
Another slow-ish week on NetGalley. I’m finally starting to catch up on my ARCs and don’t want to get behind again by requesting too many!
Added to my Wishlist:
- The S-Word by Chelsea Pitcher
- Witch Eyes by Scott Tracey
- Demon Eyes by Scott Tracey
- Phantom Eyes by Scott Tracey
- Twinmaker by Sean Williams
- Revived by Cat Patrick
- Relativity by Cristin Bishara
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
- Control by Lydia Kang
- Dracian Legacy by Priya Kanaparti
- Delirium by Lauren Oliver
- Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
- Requiem by Lauren Oliver
- Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
- Split Second by Kasie West
Apparently it’s the week of mysterious and brooding covers.
Oooh what a lovely haul. Looks like you’ve got a good selection of books to get stuck into!
Especially Descension! It’s another angel story – you know how much I love my angels ^_^ And Sunset Rising sounds really good too. I think these are still free for Kindle if you want to get a copy yourself!
I really loved both Before I Fall and Daughter of Smoke and Bone, so I’m glad to see those have made your wishlist!(:
I’ve heard about Daughter of Smoke and Bone for so long that I finally gave in… The cover really puts me off for some reason but everyone insists it’s really good!
Haha, I was looking for the right word to describe these covers and broody was perfect! I haven’t heard of any of the ones you bought, but they have some really pretty covers. Yay for WATERFELL! I haven’t been having the best of luck with mermaid books, but I’m hoping this one will be different. Finger crossed we both enjoy it.
And I approve of the books on your wishlist! 😉
– Daughter of Smoke and Bone: LOVED this book, even if I couldn’t really connect to the main character because it was written in third person. Still, it was a beautiful and amazing book, and you should totally go get it.
– Control: *sigh* I want this one so bad as well.
– Delirium & Pandemonium: I loved the first two in this series (Alex <3), but the last one was extremely disappointing. I still think these are books everyone should get to read, though.
– Split Second: OMG, YES. *grabby hands*
I actually have never been able to find any mermaid books, which is why I was so excited for Waterfell! I don’t know why but I just always skip over mermaid books, even though everyone else is telling me there’s a million of them. The same with angels 😛
Everyone says that about Smoke and Bone – I just really hate the cover which is why I’ve put it off for so long – it looks like a masquerade vampire shindig.
Control looks SO good – I needs it 😀
I almost got my sister Delirium for her birthday, but went with Unearthly instead. One day I’ll read that series 🙂
I haven’t even read Pivot Point but I know I want Split Second!!! So excited to read PP when I order it 😀
Great haul, I got a few Amazon Freebies myself.
As for Lauren Oliver, I loved her Delirium series, and The S-Word was good, too!
Happy reading!
Freebies are the best 😉
Waterfell is high on my wishlist, it sounds awesome!!! You added a lot of great books to your list. DOSAB is amazing, I liked the Delirium series and I really liked the Witch Eyes series. Cant wait for book 3. Enjoy 🙂
Oh I’m glad you enjoyed the Witch Eye series! I’ve never heard of it before and actually can’t remember where I heard of it this time but you’re the first person who’s mentioned it!
